Donations

Although the Fund meets the test for advancing education, it cannot
currently be registered as a charitable organization with CRA since loans
and awards have been restricted to descendants of James Awde and
Sarah Allon. While the Education Fund can receive donations, it cannot
issue receipts for these gifts for income tax purposes.

The Awde Education Fund is currently investigating charitable status
with the expansion of the loans and awards to non related individuals
and donations to educational facilities and programs.

The Awde Education Endowment Fund adheres to standards for fundraising
established by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy.

You may still wish to contribute to the Awde Education Fund to support
the loan program or establish special recognition awards and bursaries for
academic, athletic or volunteer service achievements.

Contributions up to $1,000 will be added to the loan program fund or to
the conservation development as directed by the donor.

Contributions of $1,000 to $10,000 may support one time awards, be
added to the loan program fund or for conservation and woodlands
development as directed by the donor.

Contributions over $10,000 may be designated for ongoing awards or
added to the loan program fund as directed by the donor. Currently, the
total amount awarded annually would be about 3.75% of the amount
invested.
