You must be a direct descendant or a legally adopted child of a direct descendant
of James Awde and Sarah Allan in order to qualify for assistance. You may need to
provide sufficient information to demonstrate your relationship to James and
Sarah if you are not already listed in the Awde Family Tree database. To find out

You must be enrolled as a full time student in an accredited Canadian University or
College.

You must have an average of 80% or greater in your final year of secondary school
or CGEP, or 75% or greater if attending a post secondary educational institution.

You must maintain a 75% average or grade point equivalent for funding to be
continued.

You may not be a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a Director of the Fund.

If sufficient funds are available, The Awde Education Fund also provides up to two
loans per year to students who are not descendants or legally adopted children of
descendants. These students are required to demonstrate exceptional academic
ability and financial need.
